Privacy policy

TODO(owner): Review this draft with a lawyer. Add the legal name and address of whoever runs Tally, and the laws that apply (for example the GDPR or North Macedonia's personal data protection law).

This policy explains what Tally stores when you use it, why, and how you can export or delete it. Tally is an expense tracker: you sign in with Google and type in your own expenses. It does not connect to your bank.

What Tally stores

• Your Google account details used for sign-in: your name, email address and profile picture link, plus an account identifier. Google provides these when you choose “Continue with Google”. Tally shows your name in the app.
• What you enter: expenses (amount, category, optional note, date), budgets, income and savings goals if you add them, category limits, categories, recurring expenses, and your settings (currency and the day your month starts).
• On your device: a copy of your data so the app works offline, your sign-in session, and small preferences such as the theme and whether you dismissed the install card. These stay in your browser's storage on that device.

What Tally does not do

• It does not connect to your bank or read your bank data.
• It does not show ads, and it does not sell or rent your data.
• It does not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Where it is stored

Your account and data are stored with Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore). Your expense data is stored under your account, and the database rules only let your signed-in account read or change it. The website and app files are served by Cloudflare Pages, which processes technical request data such as IP addresses to deliver the site.

Why it is used

Only to run Tally for you: to sign you in, save your expenses, sync them between your devices, and calculate your budget figures.

Keeping and deleting your data

Your data is kept until you delete it. In the app, Settings has “Export CSV” to download all your expenses, and “Delete account and data”, which deletes your expenses, budgets, categories, recurring expenses and settings, then your sign-in account, and clears the copy stored on that device.

TODO(owner): Confirm how long Google and Cloudflare keep backups or logs after deletion, and say so here.

Your rights

You can see, export and delete your data yourself in the app. For anything else, including questions about this policy, email support@frontitech.dev.

TODO(owner): List the rights that apply where Tally is offered, and the authority people can complain to.

Children

TODO(owner): Decide and state a minimum age for using Tally.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
